October 2018 – Dubai – 1500 delegates – our biggest event to date.
We hosted 1500 delegates from the GM and Commercial Hilton teams from across Europe, Middle East & Africa at the luxury Conrad Dubai hotel, located in the finance & shopping district in Dubai city.
A celebration of Hilton’s rich history of almost one hundred years all wrapped up in a theme called the ‘Hilton Effect’, we embarked on an intensive three day event full of plenary sessions, meetings, workshops, a trade show and two Award Dinners.
At the heart of the event was a trade show that included a 109 stand build, full AV requirements, bespoke requirements for certain stands ranging from giant human sized dice production, to scalextric games, a market place mock up and a virtual reality experience.
Two ‘spotlight stages’ were also erected and a program of activities ran on these throughout the day – interviews with highly respected General Managers, Q&A’s with some of Hilton’s VP’s. Not forgetting a fully themed breakout room dressed with fake grass & giant beanbags to allow the delegates to take some time out and focus on their mind, body & spirit – an important part of Hilton’s culture. A virtual reality room presented two brand new hotel rooms – visible only through augmented reality using an iPad. And this was just the trade show part of the agenda!
The larger of the two Awards Dinner was themed The Greatest Showman and was complete with acrobats, dancers, stiltwalkers and contortionists for the delegates to marvel at. Professional makeup artists, props and costumers were provided for the delegates to have some fun with and join in with the theme of the evening. Our X factor singer was the cherry on the top of fantastic entertainment throughout the night; performing a medley of The Greatest Showman songs to enthralled team members. Food from all around the world was served against Greatest Showman themed food stand backdrops and following a catwalk and ‘best Greatest Showman’ costume competition, the delegates partied into the night.
Breakdown began at 6am on the final day of the conference and sustainability and recycling was at the heart of this – another important part of Hilton’s culture and a CSR promise for their future.
