The brief: Linnaeus, a network of veterinary practices across the UK and Ireland, aimed to position themselves as the nation’s leading providers of quality oral care for pets. Recognising that dental health is often overlooked — with only 8% of dog owners and 4% of cat owners brushing their pets’ teeth daily — they sought to educate pet owners on the importance of regular oral hygiene to prevent common dental diseases and detect other health issues early.

The solution: The primary audience for this initiative was pet owners, particularly those unaware of the significance of pet dental care. The campaign aimed to shift the prevailing reactive approach to a proactive one, encouraging routine dental check-ups and home care practices.

To achieve this, a comprehensive educational toolkit was developed, featuring warm and friendly visuals that combined engaging illustrations with images of happy pets.

The result:

Initially piloted in select Yorkshire practices, the campaign aimed for a broader rollout in 2024. By focusing on education and reassurance, Linnaeus aspired to foster a culture change among UK pet owners, promoting preventive oral care and enhancing overall pet health and longevity.
