Project: One Team event for a combined workforce


The brief: SCS JV engaged CampaignWorks for their One Team event. The objective was to create a high-energy, engaging, and meaningful event that reinforced the shared vision, values, and mission of the combined workforce from Skanska, Costain, and Strabag, to now work together in partnership with HS2.

The audience: The event targeted employees from across SCS JV, bringing together leadership teams, area office and building site crew members. The aim was to foster a sense of unity, celebrate achievements, and inspire collaboration for the next three years.

The solution: Wembley Stadium was chosen as the venue, providing an iconic and accessible location with a rich history and excellent facilities. CampaignWorks implemented a structured communications campaign, ensuring engagement in the weeks leading up to the event via regular briefings, an intranet ‘one-stop shop’ page, email reminders, and targeted team engagement.

On the day, a full conference schedule was delivered with an emphasis on high energy and participation, including:

  • A relaxed networking start with interactive challenges and selfie opportunities.
  • A dynamic MC-led plenary session, opening with a high-impact keynote TED-style talk addressing past challenges, current successes, and the vision for the future.
  • A panel discussion in a TV talk show format featuring senior SCS staff, highlighting company values and fostering pride in working at SCS.
  • An iconic ‘We Are SCS’ video, reinforcing the event’s key messages.
  • A closing session on ‘One Team Spirit,’ spotlighting employees who exemplify company values and introducing a new values award scheme.

The result:

The One Team event successfully brought together employees to celebrate achievements and reaffirm commitment to SCS JV’s values. Attendees left feeling inspired, connected, and motivated to drive excellence over the next three years. The combination of strategic planning, engaging content, and a powerful venue ensured a memorable and impactful experience for all involved.
